Post burn support for families and children affected by burn trauma.
About Me

The Amos House of Faith is a nonprofit organization that supports children and families affected by burn trauma. On March 7, 1999, my husband, six sons, and I experienced a horrific house fire which resulted in the death of my 22 month twin son Amos, and seriously injuring myself and the other twin. This experience initiated us into the burn community and made us aware of the many needs in this community. The vision for The Amos House of Faith was born in tragedy and shaped by the culmination of a myriad of experiences during nearly a decade of volunteer services. In honor of the memory of my deceased son, Amos Beniah Page (1997-1999), The Amos House of Faith seeks to support and encourage other burn survivors and their caretakers.

In 2007our organization established the After Burns Club for children and their siblings who have been burned or who have lost loved ones due to a burn tragedy. We are currently holding bi-monthly meetings at Shriners in Houston and monthly meetings at Shroiners in Galveston. The program has been extremely successful! We are ready to move on to our second initiative which is to provide temporary lodging for caretakers of seriously burned patients on the John S. Dunn Sr. Burn Unit at Memorial Hermann in the Texas Medical Center. The Amos House of Faith Family room will be a facility with bedrooms, dining, living, laundry, and a meditation area. Room assignments will be given on a referral basis by The Amos House of Faith liaison. Refreshments will be provided as well. Caretakers of burn patients are encouraged to visit daily for respite and support. Providing a place to stay overnight in close proximity to the burn unit will be a comfort to those who are caring for seriously burned patients whose outcome is on many occasions unsure. We are in need of a home to provide this service. I see a great need for this facility on a daily basis.

The opportunity to share our current services and vision with your audience would be a God send. You may view or website at www.theamoshouseoffaith.org to learn more about our programs, events, vision, and mission. Be sure to take a look at our Houston Chronicle article under the "About Us" tab. The following is youtube video link entitled "Tragedy to Triumph" is very informative as well.
